YouthRock turns 20
Yep, that's right Australia's premier youth rock band competition is 20 years old.
Arrive alive is a major sponsor of YouthRock which is produced by the New South Wales Department of Education and Training and held in conjunction with Youth Week.
YouthRock 2008 was held from 16-20 April at the Sutherland Entertainment Centre.
The now famous Australian group 'Silverchair' was a past YouthRock winner. Other artists include Alex Lloyd (ex Balmain High), Quirk (Moruya High) recently chosen to support the Red Hot Chilli Peppers and Sony Stevanovic (Belmore Boys High) now playing lead guitar for Enrique Iglesias.
And YouthRock continues to identify and promote emerging amateur rock bands.
Arrive alive is offering an added bonus for YouthRock bands via a deal with Fbi Radio and selected regional stations which will see bands chosen for live interviews and airtime for as many YouthRock songs as possible.
The Arrive alive website is YouthRock central with great information on the bands, the chance to vote for your favourite bands to be given a wildcard to the finals and some awesome videos and photos.
