 | The resulting song and music video is called "You're Gone" - The X.R.O.A.D.S. (or Xploring Road-user Options, Achieving Driver Safety) group who worked on the project involved over 30 young people from many different ethnic backgrounds, some of whom may have had direct experience or exposure to risky driving and road incidents. A local songwriter, NOMISe, worked with emerging young artists to write, compose and perform the song and a local filmmaker worked with young people to direct and produce the video. The music video displays a road safety message incorporating the five top community languages in the Bankstown area - Arabic, Chinese Mandarin, Greek, Macedonian and Vietnamese - to communicate the key message of X.R.O.A.D.S. not only to young people but their parents and families as well.
The Bankstown X.R.O.A.D.S. project won a commendation in the Youth Engagement Category of the 2006 National Awards for Local Government.
