Arrive alive Queenscliff Surf Carnival - Worth Waiting For
We had to wait another week but it was worth it...

Manly duo Naomi Flood and Emma Parsons highlighted a successful Arrive Alive Queenscliff Carnival over the weekend with Flood taking out the open Ironwomen event and Parsons wrapping up the overall NSW premiership title with a fifth placing.

Flood was unstoppable in the Ironwomen final taking the win ahead of fellow Kellogg's Nutri Grain Series member, Candice Falzon of North Bondi while former men's national champion, Nathan Smith of Cronulla took out the open Ironman event.

Smith extended his lead in the board and the ski legs of the race, while the shore dump wreaked havoc on fellow club mate, Chris Allum who was passed by his brother Hayden (Wanda) and home beach favourite, Brad Gaul (Queenscliff) who finished second and third respectively.

The Queenscliff club had more to celebrate in the water area when craft specialists, Ben Atkinson and Nick Holt stormed home to take out their respective open men's board and ski race finals.

On the sand the highly anticipated clash between comeback queen Cara Langendam (Bulli) and Australian Sprint Champion Elly Graf (Cronulla) failed to eventuate in the beach sprint, with the Bulli star claiming victory over Queenscliff's Laura Shorter.

The pair however went head-to-head in the Flags, with Graf getting the prize - as she did in the U17 Flags but Langendam's second place was enough to secure an overall premiership victory.

Club president, David Piper was very pleased with this years Carnival that attracted competitors from throughout the state.
