Australia's Kurt Fearnley Triumphs in Oz Day 10K Road Race

Defending champion, Australian Paralympian Kurt Fearnley has made it 4 consecutive wins by triumphing in today's Arrive alive OZ Day 10K Road Race held 26 January, 2008 and hosted by Wheelchair Sports NSW.

Today was the 19th year wheelchair athletes from home and abroad have competed in the event and Kurt's winning time of 20:32 is an equal course record from Japan's Soejima Masazumi (2nd) and Kota Hokinoue (3rd).

"The 2008 Arrive alive Summer Down Under Road and Track Racing Series attracted the largest field since 2004 with entries from the world's best athletes and Paralympic medalists, including our home grown heroes, in the lead-up to the Paralympics' in Beijing later this year. The athletes didn't let us down and the event is a great spectacle on Australia Day for Sydney-siders to watch and cheer on these amazing elite athletes." said Jim O'Brien, CEO, Wheelchair Sports NSW.
